I just sent this to them after unsuccessfully unsubscribing—twice—from their mailing list, which I never signed up for in the first place:
I have never subscribed to PETA’s email list, nor used any of its services, nor ever, in my memory, visited its website. I received an unsolicited email from PETA about a month ago, got [...]

Lana Gay, the host of Lanarama, just mentioned me live on CBC Radio 3! This reminds me of the time, back in June, when Tariq Hussain also gave me some radio exposure.
I left a comment on Lana’s blog entry, telling her—in true Halloween fashion—what movie I’ve found the scariest…
Aside from Jurassic Park when I was [...]
I’ve had a profile on OkCupid since March. Back when I was more invested in the site, I answered 954 of the questions that are used to judge users’ personalities. OkCupid analyzes the results as users answer more questions, and gives “Personality Awards” based on that analysis. These are little icons that supposedly indicate which [...]

I came across a hilarious image today on the CBC Radio 3 site. It’s an advertisement for their new Pride Podcast, a special edition podcast featuring queer Canadian indie artists.
I haven’t listened to the podcast and so can’t vote it up or down, but I can suggest you check out the imagery they used, which for [...]

I made a comment on the CBC Radio 3 blog and asked for a request, and he not only granted it, but said it was going out to “jlaselva” in Boston, Massachusetts. Foreigners invading the airwaves of Canada!
Tariq’s filling in for Grant Lawrence [...]
I added a definition for Abington to Wiktionary today.
We ran a bunch of fake news stories on Wesleying tonight, and changed the colors of the text and background. The logo was also modified; it now says “Wellesleying” and had a Wellesley logo—very fitting, considering all the (unnecessary) confusion that exists regarding the differences between Wesleyan and Wellesley.
In other Interweb-related news, I was rickrolled [...]

Every once in a while I’ll find the link to Encyclopedia Dramatica in my bookmarks. And then I’ll remember how it just may be one of the funniest websites on the Interweb.
My favorites of today: I did it for the lulz, and 16-year-old girl.
Remember WesPersonals? I found my old personal ad (which I deleted long ago) saved on my computer today, and decided to re-post it, though not quite with the same intent.
All in all, not too much has changed since I posted that over a year ago, in November 2006: the line about not drinking would have [...]
Something that made me laugh, from a Times article touching, in part, on the analytical tendency to either synthesize or particularize:
For the anthropologists, the exceptions were more important than the rules. Instead of seeking overarching laws, the call was to “contextualize,” “complexify,” “relativize,” “particularize” and even “problematize,” a word that in their dialect was given [...]
