Finally, the Roving Reporter finds me!

I’ve always wondered where the Roving Reporter for the Argus finds the people that end up on that page in the paper. And how do they always come up with such funny things to say when prompted? A part of me even wondered if it was all some elaborate hoax, perpetrated on the Wesleyan student [...]

The Pride Podcast’s hilarious imagery

I came across a hilarious image today on the CBC Radio 3 site. It’s an advertisement for their new Pride Podcast, a special edition podcast featuring queer Canadian indie artists.
I haven’t listened to the podcast and so can’t vote it up or down, but I can suggest you check out the imagery they used, which for [...]

Attention-getting spam

I just got an email whose subject line was, “Invitation to World Blowjob Day.” The body of the message simply says, “Lovemaking is not a skill, all you need is to be huge.” Haha.

Happy April Fool’s Day!

We ran a bunch of fake news stories on Wesleying tonight, and changed the colors of the text and background. The logo was also modified; it now says “Wellesleying” and had a Wellesley logo—very fitting, considering all the (unnecessary) confusion that exists regarding the differences between Wesleyan and Wellesley.
In other Interweb-related news, I was rickrolled [...]

Encyclopedia Dramatica… for the lulz

Every once in a while I’ll find the link to Encyclopedia Dramatica in my bookmarks. And then I’ll remember how it just may be one of the funniest websites on the Interweb.
My favorites of today: I did it for the lulz, and 16-year-old girl.

Funny things people send to Help Desk

I have read over the Student Confidentiality Agreement to which I had to agree as a condition of my employment at Help Desk, and have decided that it does not prohibit the disclosure of support requests sent to Help Desk, so long as the email doesn’t contain any personal confidential information. So I decided to [...]

Double entendre time

From a New York Times article on Clinton’s new strategy:
Denny Gallaudet, an investment manager and undecided Democratic voter from Freedom, N.H., who attended a rally in Rochester on Friday with Mr. Clinton, said he sensed “a little Clinton fatigue” among voters. Mr. Gallaudet, who supported Mr. Clinton in 1992 and 1996, said he was skeptical [...]

Some little notes about things online

Something that made me laugh, from a Times article touching, in part, on the analytical tendency to either synthesize or particularize:
For the anthropologists, the exceptions were more important than the rules. Instead of seeking overarching laws, the call was to “contextualize,” “complexify,” “relativize,” “particularize” and even “problematize,” a word that in their dialect was given [...]

The Onion never disappoints

It’s almost as addictive as Wikipedia. One particularly funny article:
“I put my finger up your—” said Kendler, choking back the word “ass.” “Lips. Up to your lips. Like, to hush you, because the moment is so awe-inspiring. Then I move my hand to the back of your head and, um, stroke your hair. And then [...]

To post, or not to post: that is the question

I am considering posting this on Wesleying; I think it’s almost too creative not to post. However, despite my best intentions and the tag “if you took this seriously enough to get angry over it then you entirely missed the point,” I still think people won’t be able to understand the concept of abstract humor—a [...]
