Blast from the past: my valedictory speech
How I would have loved to give a speech at Wesleyan’s commencement… Despite my failed dreams, there remains nostalgia to give me my kicks. I gave the valedictory speech at Abington High School’s graduation, in what was my first—and, I suppose, my only—public speaking performance in front of a crowd of thousands. On June 4, [...]
Not burned out, just… lacking motivation
I’m sitting here blogging, when I should be writing my last and final paper of the semester. Earlier, I made myself dinner, when I should have been writing my last and final paper of the semester. Before that, I was shoveling snow, when I should have been writing my last and final paper of the [...]
ARHA paper prep
This blog entry constitutes the clearing of my head in order to work. My situation: 14.5 hours left, 10 pages to go, and very little research done so far. The only thing I know for sure is that this paper will be done, on time—simply because it must be done, on time. I shall now begin.

One… more… paper…
I can’t do it anymore. I’ve got no motivation whatsoever to write this last paper. It’s 4:30 in the morning, I need eight pages by noon, and I just can’t bring myself to do it. This is so ridiculous. I can’t wait to get away from academics for a few months!

As Reading Week ends, and Finals Week begins
Already I’ve had to alter the schedule I worked out last night. But, I’ve made some progress. I turned in my ECON256 paper this afternoon, and about an hour ago, I finished my AMST200 paper. So, I’ve got two down, and two to go (less positively, I’ve got 10 pages down, and 23 to go). [...]

Academic Hell: Apocalypse Edition™
April 11 began my Six Days of Hell: that period, earlier in the semester, when I had three huge papers due in six days. It was, up to that time, the densest period of academic work I had had to complete, in the shortest possible timeframe, ever. Yet, those six days are now looking like [...]
