The time is nearing… my month in New Orleans! This drastic change in circumstances necessitates an equally drastic change in getting in touch with me.
I don’t plan on using a computer throughout my time in New Orleans, so you should expect no updates to this blog. Similarly, you’ll receive no replies to things you write on my Facebook Wall, or Facebook messages that you send me, or emails that you write me. Basically, expect no form of online communication from the end of June until the end of July.
I am also selling my iPhone soon, so you will not be able to reach me via phone, SMS, or voicemail.*
I will have some kind of junk phone with prepaid minutes while down in New Orleans, for my parents to reach me, so all contact with me is going to have to go through them. If you think you’ll need to, or want to, get in touch with me through the end of July, please send me an email either this week or next, and I’ll give you my home phone number. You can then call my parents and leave a message for me, or leave a message on the answering machine, and they’ll let me know about it when I call home.
Other than that, I will be out of contact with everyone outside my immediate vicinity. Whoa.
More details on New Orleans plans to come.
* EDIT (2:20 AM): I may be selling my iPhone sooner than expected (as in, within days). If you think being able to call me over the next week-and-a-half is important, please send me an email ASAP and I will give you my home phone number.

Oh nooo!
I feel weird calling your parents
hugs!! I’m really excited for you
I mean, I guess it’s a worthwhile experience to be out of contact for a while. But ahhh
Also, do you know what organization you will be with?
lol. If you call between 3:15 and 4:15, you’re most likely to get the answering machine.
I don’t know what group I’ll be down there with. Jeffrey is going to meet me down there, and I’ve sent him a bunch of options that we have yet to discuss. I’ve looked into Habitat for Humanity, ACORN, the United Church of Christ, and a Baptist group.
I think it’s going to come down to whoever is willing to work out a deal with me for room and board and transportation without asking too much in the form of a donation. I’m quite strapped for funds this summer.
yay UCC!
