Tariq Hussain of CBC Radio 3 just mentioned me on the radio. Hawt!
I made a comment on the CBC Radio 3 blog and asked for a request, and he not only granted it, but said it was going out to “jlaselva” in Boston, Massachusetts. Foreigners invading the airwaves of Canada!
Tariq’s filling in for Grant Lawrence today and is running an all-requests show. He has a poll question that he seeks responses for. Today’s question is, What is your favourite karaoke song to perform? Not having much karaoke experience, I answered as follows:
Does cruising down the highway with the windows down, friends’ arms out the windows, everyone singing along, count as karaoke? If so, the best song for it is Train’s “Drops of Jupiter.”
Could I hear “Spring Flower” by The Great Outdoors? I don’t think I’ll be singing it for you, but you’d make a fan south of Boston, Massachusetts, pretty happy!
Tariq also said that he was familiar with the song… but he asked his producer, and he said he didn’t know who Train was. I guess that’s a good example of the different music scenes in two of the neighboring North American countries.
Silly Canadians. I love them, though.
