I’ve developed so much more respect for Canadians since I started listening to CBC Radio 3 all the time, starting maybe a year ago.
Bend Sinister is one of the indie/rock/progressive bands I’ve found through that lovely radio station. You can check out the music video for “Time Breaks Down”—my favorite song of theirs—at YouTube. Usually I don’t take an interest in watching the videos of songs I like, but this one is great.
So leave your worries at the door
Stop thinking about the TV war
I know it’s hard, but you can’t complain now, girl
Because you need someone to let you inOn the secret I’ve been keeping for a thousand years
The secret keeping me from a thousand tears
And I hope, girl, if I tell you what it is
It would keep us safe and sound and make sure
No one else around knows thatTime breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Don’t you know that time breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feetWell, it’s just as easy as 1-2-3
But the only ones who know, babe, are you and me
So let’s make a pact to hide the fact (now, girl)
To keep it safe and sound and make sure
No one else around knows thatTime breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Don’t you know that time breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feet right nowSo, now there’s nothing more to do
But tell you, babe, I love you
Let’s share our secrets, share our lives
And simply close our eyes asTime breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Don’t you know that time breaks down
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feet
Leave it on your own two feet right now
