This past weekend, I took Yelena to Wadsworth Falls. We waded around in the river under the falls, which was difficult due to all the seaweed-algae stuff on the rocks, that made the bed of the river look like a mix of sharp angles and thick, undulating strands of hair. I cut my foot open on one the sharper rocks and it was bleeding a lot, but it cleaned up nicely.
After wading through the river, we walked down along the railroad tracks, sat up on the cliff-y thing over the river, and tried to decide whether a couple on the other side of the river below us was married or not. I think we determined that they were.
On the way back from a walk through Wadsworth Falls State Park, I lost my footing going down a hill by stepping in what was just a bunch of brush covering an open space… and got cut up by a bunch of thorns. My left wrist looked like I’d been cutting myself, and I still have a big gash there. Not very pretty.
On the upside, I did get that awesome photo of Yelena on my iPhone. Despite the busyness of my schedule, weekend outings like this one make everything feel so peaceful and right.

I want one of your pickles in the least sexual way possible and I’m astonished that you took someone else to wadsworth before we went! GRR!
How flattering you are, you little minx! They’re actually pickled peppers, and I’ll save you one (or a few). They’re delicious, I promise.
If you want top billing for my Wadsworth trips, you’ll have to want my pickle in something more sexual than the least sexual way possible.
I smiled reading this. It sounds like a fun outing… dangerous at that.. .but fun. Abrasions and thorns sound painful. What was your date doing while all this was going on!?!?
lol. It was fun. Yelena actually was wading in the river with me, albeit far behind. She didn’t make it to the grassy island in the middle, which let her escape the jagged rocks around that area. She’s smart.
On the downhill, I was leading, so she also had the benefit of seeing me fall, and so didn’t step in the same spot. Again, smart. lol.
