Bleakness: the next five days

I can’t stop listening to “Tessellate” by Tokyo Police Club. I purchased the song about 24 hours ago, and I’ve already listened to it 35 times. Delightful. What’s less delightful is my schedule for the next five days. Share this entry:

A (very) abridged look into some recent troubles

I’ve got quite a bit on my mind. The problem is not that I haven’t had time to write it all down, but rather that, first, I haven’t had the ability to sit down and put my thoughts into words, and second, that I haven’t been managing my time in anything like an efficient manner. [...]

Tokyo Police Club’s “Tessellate”

All the boys who called their mothers on that day Were no tough bunch, but they had the nerves to go and say That all your secrets were drowned With the pioneers who were flooded from this town They packed their bags only moments too late With the pounding waves crashing up against the weakened [...]

Anthemic!

A while ago I put forth some conditions for differentiating between good songs and great songs. Well, I was listening to a CBC Radio 3 podcast the other day, in which the host described a song as being “anthemic”. I immediately realized that that’s the word I was searching for when describing this: Some [songs] [...]

Happy April Fool’s Day!

We ran a bunch of fake news stories on Wesleying tonight, and changed the colors of the text and background. The logo was also modified; it now says “Wellesleying” and had a Wellesley logo—very fitting, considering all the (unnecessary) confusion that exists regarding the differences between Wesleyan and Wellesley. In other Interweb-related news, I was [...]

“This is a Fire Door Never Leave Open”

When Mad told me earlier tonight that I needed to write something public on here, besides song lyrics, I agreed with her. In fact, as I related to her, I’ve got a hot, steaming load of pent-up thought that’s just itching for release all over the sweet white face of this blog. But enough of [...]
