Haircut needed: hence, opinions needed

OK, dudez. I’m getting sick of my current hairstyle. It’s been a month or two since my last haircut, which means it’s getting long again. That means it’s really curly and easily tangled. It dries out, especially on the sides and in the back. It takes extra long to get it wet and wash it in the shower. And it falls out and covers all my bedding and clothes.

And you know how much I hate hairs that aren’t attached to some body part… Ick.

I’ve got a week before I go back to school, to change this situation. So, I need your help in choosing something new to do with my hair. Should I stick with just getting it cut, or go crazy, and get it straightened? Treated? Dyed? Something new and exciting? Or just more of the same curly goodness, but shorter? You decide! Let me know in the comments. Click through for some photos showing various lengths of my hair.

This is pretty much as short as I’ve ever had my hair. This was fresh outta the shower, so it’s wet and gelled up. Note for the curious, this is from, uh, maybe summer of junior year of high school:Cape Cod (1)
Here’s an example where it’s a little longer. This was freshman year of college, I think. There’s no gel or anything in it:Shaving (2)
And again, the hair grows. This is a good middle stage, between shortness and afro-like curliness:Kirra Shirt (3)
It’s long! Here it’s all puffed up because of humidity and other birthday goodness. Mm, lime:Birthday (4)
And I still hadn’t gotten it cut, for the Christmas Party of 2007. You can see the dryness on the sides, and it’s very easy to get in knots:Nerf (5)
And a few weeks after my first haircut in foreverz! Though, it’s still pretty long, and extra curly due to the wind:Party (6)
Let me know what you think!

    pink mullet. ’nuff said.

I’m a fan of growing it long and cutting it short. In truth, I’d recommend like a number 4 or 6 buzz cut. Then you won’t have to worry about it again for a while, and you’ll be reacquainted with the shape of your head. But the ladies are drawn to flowing locks–like moths to the flame–so if youre lookin for love just get a trim. Trust me, I study psychology. *patronizing nod*

actually, the more gendered your appearance is, the more attractive you tend to be rated. so go for manly (or womanly, if you’re ready for that), and fuck fucking the binary! (are buzzes manly? i think so. muscle-head equates with manliness, ya? just look at jia *appreciative whistle*)

ps: i just practiced giving patronizing nods, and have decided that i’m not sure if i’m even able to. so consider it merely attempted.

Buzz cut’s probably a little too short, and the pink mullet a little too, uh… I dunno what the pink mullet is. But your patronizing nods and mainly ironic (uh huh) use of social psychology theories leads me to consider your “more gendered” claim. Dunno if going bald is the answer, though!

P.S. Sorry to hear about your patronizing nod failure. You should work on that.

It might be too late for my opinion to matter, but I would suggest a return to the length in the second picture. It’s a nice change without being *too* short (it’s still curly!), and it’ll be cool for the summer.

I haven’t gotten it cut yet, though I’m trying to make an appointment to do it today. I, too, think the length in the second photo is the best! Yay!
