The obligatory status-of-my-life entry

Meh. Not much has been happening lately. I skipped Latin this morning, which was bad. But I was so sleepy! I still had yet to fully recover from the all-nighter I had pulled the night before, which in the end was pretty pointless, because the paper I wrote on-and-off during that night spent awake didn’t even turn out too well. Argh.

On the inside of my IKEA desk lamp, it says that it was “Made in People’s Republic of China.” I’ve never really understood the logic behind China calling itself a republic; much less North Korea, which is—officially, anyway—named the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Hell, they’re so democratic and republican that they aren’t scared to advertise their citizens’ freedom and liberty to the world through their official website. You can even support the North Koreans’ democratic republic by buying stuff from their online shop! Man, America, if we’re going to say we’re a republic, we need to get up on the times and launch an online store.

I went running today and made it the entire 3.7 miles with just a tiny stop at High Street, which means: 1) I made it up the hill onto the bridge, up the hill back onto the bridge for the return trip, and all the way up the hill that is Washington Street. I thought I was going to puke right at High Street, but I walked for about ten yards and managed to keep my PB-and-J inside of me.

Jia agreed to go running with me Thursday morning, but Weather Underground says there’s a 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms, so it looks like that deal is off. I’m still unprepared for such a weather event: I left my umbrella in the back of my parents’ car when they came down here for Homecoming Weekend, and now it’s sitting up in Abington while I get drenched down here on the rainy days. I hope it’s just showers, and not a downpour.

Other than that, not much is new. Usually I’d have some personal revelations to reveal, or some conclusion I’ve reached, but the past week has been pretty low-key, and not terribly introspective. Maybe the next few days will bring something more exciting for me to write about. Until then, good night!
