- Drove into Boston one last time. Then had to drive to Milton. Went to lunch with Chris, then got locked out of his house. And then we got in.
- Went to the Marshfield Fair. It rained a lot, and we all got soaked. My mop of hair soaked much of it up and kept me dry. Added bonus: I could shake my head and, like a dog, water would spray everywhere.
- We saw a wrestling match, but didn’t get to go on any rides. I went with Josh, Chris, and Monique; we saw Wendy, Seth, Steph, and Wendy’s boyfriend there. I think I made Wendy’s boyfriend mad when I told Wendy, whom I’ve always had a bit of a crush on, that she’s very good-looking (it was not as awkward as that sounds, lol, but I can’t provide further details).
- In true ritual style, I consumed my #2 fried dough of the year.
- Went speeding around post-Fair and bought some goods, had some fun, and rocked out with Guitar Hero. I got pretty good with “Sweet Child o’ Mine” by Guns N Roses.
- I realized I have a serious flirting problem lately. Whether from lack of motivation or lack of interest, I’m just not responding to any of the girl-cues that indicate flirting, nor am I initiating. What is wrong with me?!
- I left Josh’s early, drove home through a pretty nasty storm (downed branches, heavy rain, etc.) and found someone had hit a young deer on Lincoln Street. I stopped in the road, turned my hazards on, and waved people around so no one would hit him again, as I watched him try to stand up but just keep falling on his face in the puddly road. Someone who lives nearby came out and, since I couldn’t get Animal Control on the phone, the cops came. This homeowner and I talked about the Fair and painting while the poor deer lay in front of us in the beam of an officer’s flashlight. Shivering from the rain, I got back in my car and watched through my windshield, water cascading down it, as an officer picked up the deer, put him in the woods, and shot him. Bang. Not the ending I was looking for.
- Apple Store early. I’m going to try to make it—on five hours of sleep. We’ll see.
- 21 in 19 days. Wes in 4 days. So little time. Still so much to accomplish.
