Buying my mom flowers, with a dime

DimeWhen I was little, I used to think the branches on the back of the U.S. dime were some kind of flower. One day, I made the mental connection that a dime, since it had flowers on the back, could be used to purchase flowers.

My mom had just gotten out of the shower one day when I must’ve been feeling particularly generous. I brought a handful of dimes that I’d saved to her bedroom and told her that now she could buy a bunch of flowers. I wish I could remember her reaction.

haha that’s adorable! Much better than the ‘soup’ (aka all the spices in our cuboard dumped into a bowl of water) that I used to make for my parents.

lol. I guess that’s sort of endearing in its own way.
