Breaking records (and speed limits)

I’ve finally done it. I’ve made it from my driveway to Boston in under 20 minutes, and from my driveway to The Westin in under 30—and that 30 includes hitting just about every traffic light in town from the exit ramp to the hotel. I ended up arriving at work about 35 minutes early, so I clocked in, took my time going through the opening procedure, and opened up about fifteen minutes early. It’s nearing 8:00 now, and no one has yet come in.

It’s kinda drab outside; overcast but warm. I hope the sun comes out. I also hope I don’t fall asleep. I’ve gotten less than four hours of sleep, and work isn’t over today until 6:00 PM.

Slinky DogHow will I fill that time? Playing with iPhone, watching TV, (occasionally) catering to clients, and dreaming that one day the Slinky Dog that we have in the store will be mine. It came from a package that we sent out but was returned to us as undeliverable by UPS. If we can’t find a way to contact the original sender, the contents will be trashed. But I’ve already called dibs on the Slinky Dog; my coworker Henok has claimed the Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots game that was also in the shipment.
