I’m already up later than I had anticipated, and I have to get up early today to walk around Boston. I have to walk to Washington Street to have some forms notarized or authorized or something for the Apple job, and apparently they want me to do it at their local Volt office. I refuse to pay $4.00 to travel 3 miles on the T. I also have to visit the bank.
Her Royal Highness, the Princess Ubolratana Mahidol of Thailand, and her entourage are staying in my hotel for a few days. They all get fruit plates and bottles of water upon their arrival, but the princess gets a special “upscale” fruit plate with both sparkling and spring water. Her fruit plate will have strawberries, seedless and green grapes, and cherries, among other things. Also, she has a bodyguard and a naval attaché. This has absolutely no relevance to anything, but I thought it was interesting, nonetheless.
Someone started a thread on the ACB about the likelihood (or lack thereof) of Mad and I getting together. I see her in nine days and am terribly excited. I called her today and she was preparing dinner—with goat cheese! She is adorable.
Monique’s “pirate” birthday party is Saturday. I’m also looking forward to that, as well as the fact that I don’t have to work Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Now I just have to find some elements of a pirate costume before Saturday!
On my break today, I called Erica on the off chance that she was still in the city at 7:00. I got a very friendly call from her later in the night informing me that she only works until 5:00. Which is all lovely, yes, but I do believe that’s the last time I will ever try to initiate something with her again. Too much effort, and never any results. But like I said, she left a very friendly message. It’s nice to be nice.
I love driving in the city. And despite the horror of I-93, it’s still a lovely ride home on warm summer nights with the windows down, mixtape music up, and my arm hanging out the window. I don’t even stop singing when I’m stuck in traffic and the car next to me has its windows down. Mm, love.
Did I mention I can’t wait to see Mad?
Matt called me when I was driving home on Route 18, right before Route 58, and told me that him, Josh, and Elyse were driving aimlessly around Marshfield. I picked up Chris and we all met at Hanover Mall. Josh drove into a shopping cart and we inspected an empty bottle of Bacardi. He also smashed a bottle of iced tea, at which point we all sped off. We met up at the junction of Routes 58 and 123 and I blared my horn. At the intersection of Summer Street and Route 58, which is one-lane, I got up on the right of Josh’s car and sped past him when the light changed. I think we nearly hit the minivan in the opposite lane. It may have been the “ballsiest” thing I’ve ever done, driving-wise, outside of the city.
I ate lots of Wheat Thins and french onion dip when I got home. Summer is delicious in so many ways.
EDIT (5:33 PM): Made some minor corrections and removed a paragraph about driving in the city.

“It’s nice to be nice.”
“I love driving in the city and being the stereotypical asshole Boston driver.”
Ahem…
::Cough:: Edited.
lol. Though, the nice comment was regarding Erica, while the asshole comment applied to myself, so there was no contradiction in what I had originally written.
