I hung around and then went to the aquarium!

Yesterday I spent 24 hours in a row on the couch. I got up only to use the bathroom and fetch food, which I then ate on the couch. During this couch time I watched Jesus Camp, which was very interesting and also frightening.

Today was a bit more productive. I went to the aquarium with the family, and afterward went out to dinner and to see Happy Feet at the IMAX thingy. The aquarium was very, very crowded with BABIES EVERYWHERE. It was the first time in a while I had been to an educational, kid-friendly type of museum. It was really nice to see all those kids learning about how pollution is bad and lungfish are living fossils. Maybe I’ll try to work at a museum this summer. Happy Feet was excellent. One of the most adorable movies I’ve seen, ever. And clearly made by Hollywood liberals. Religious fundamentalism is bad! Overfishing is bad! Global warming is bad! Zoos are kind of bad! SAVE THE PENGUINS!

We were in the car on the way to the movie and I said, “Guys, we should get there early and get a good seat.” And my family was like, “Yeah, we should.” I hate having inside jokes with myself.

I watched way too much What Not to Wear during my couch time (TLC has a WNtW marathon every Friday, I think), and now I think I want to get my hair cut. Nothing drastic, just thinning and shaping so it’s not like HAIR EVERYWHERE when you look at me. I’ve watched quite a lot of WNtW lately, and I’ve seen a recurring theme – a large percentage of the people on the show are women who are having trouble transitioning (in outward appearance) into adulthood. I think that I will have trouble with that. Oh man, growing up! Actually, since being home I’ve been looking forward to it. I have an urge to move into my own place and cook things and start a family.

I started recording knitting things at my unused blogger account, so I don’t have to bother you guys with them anymore. Woo!
